About this course:

Our Level 2 Apprenticeship in CCPLD will help develop learners knowledge, skills and occupational competence with in Child Care settings.Ìý

The aim of the of this apprenticeship is to prepare learners to work within an Early Years environment. At this level, practitioners are supported to provide a number of stimulating activities and opportunities for children, promoting play, learning and development

This apprenticeship is suitable for those in regulated childcare settings, who work with families and children under the age of 8, NHS children’s services for those working with families and children 0-19 and learners who have achieved a Level 1 qualification or who have no previous knowledge of the children’s care, play, learning and development sectors.Ìý

This includes child health settings.Ìý

Learners will be required to undertake a mixture of mandatory units and optional units (we will work with you to decide what optional units are relevant to your role, and your business).Ìý

When you agree to undertake an Apprenticeship, you may be required to complete Essential Skills qualifications, depending on your previous qualifications, the Apprenticeship level you are completing and your own particular needs.Ìý

This qualification will primarily be delivered through 1-to-1 sessions with a member of our delivery team, using a mixture of face-to-face and remote learning sessions.Ìý

Upon enrolment, learners are also allocated an assessor. Throughout the qualification, the assessor will visit the learner either at their workplace or remotely (for example, via Microsoft Teams) on a monthly basis, to support progress, observe and set tasks.Ìý

Learners are supported and encouraged throughout their qualification to reach their full potential in their chosen industry. Successful learners may progress onto the Level 3 CCPLD Apprenticeship.Ìý

To start an Apprenticeship in Wales, you need to be:Ìý

  • aged 16 or over (there is no upper age limit)Ìý
  • living in WalesÌý
  • not in full-time educationÌý
  • not accessing any other funding from the Welsh GovernmentÌý

If you’re looking to undertake an Apprenticeship qualification as a way of upskilling within your current role, you will also need to be:Ìý

  • employedÌý for a minimum of 16 hoursÌý
  • supported by your employer to undertake the qualificationÌý
  • committed to undertaking an average of 8-10 hours of study a week plus classroomÌý
  • working in a role that is relevant to the qualificationÌý
  • employed for at least 51% of your contracted hours in WalesÌý
